There are lots of different types of batteries for digital cameras. Once you buy it, you as an owner need to be sure that your gadget uses a particular kind of batteries made only for that specific model. Usually, most digital cameras are equipped with a built in Li-ion or Lithium ion battery similar to the one found in iPods, laptops, mobile phones, and PDAs. The most commonly used type is square flat type which demands continuous recharging so that it could be used constantly. Besides, the gadget comes with a charger so you just have to connect the cord to the camera and then plug it into an electrical socket after which the battery will  start charging.
